Brief

Website for motorbike seller

Requirements

  • Yes: strong colours, curves
  • Likes: art & healing, destress, chrysalis
  • No: not too girly
  • Navigation: clear & intuitive

Design Phase 1

2 designs, in different colour schemes. Both using saol bird logo as main inspiration, & purple & blue colours from saol logo. Both quite curvy, reasonably strong coloured.
  • Design 1 - mostly purple, with blue accent
  • Design 2 - as, design 1, but mostly blue, with purple accent
  • Design 3 - mostly purple, with blue accent
  • Design 4 - as, design 3, but mostly blue, with purple accent

Design Phase 2

Changes to Design 4:

  • Have taken out the curly pattern and added in a wave pattern
  • Have made the background colour slightly more saturated
  • I have made the birds smaller so that you can see the wings - I think this works better
  • The full logo heads the page
  • Have increased the paragraph text & links by half a font size
  • Have reversed text and navigation panels
  • The background will adjust on each computer and take up the full screen in the finished website
  • PRI changed t o Progression Routes Initiative
  • Childcare centre changed to children’s centre
  • Have put the top nav inside a purple coloured curved area
  • Have included a search link in the top nav.
  • Design 5

Design Phase 3

>more space between the logo and the top heading
Done - have moved logo down by approx 10 pixels

>Can we have a section that says ‘about SAOL’, this will have the aims and objectives
Done - added as second link. There may be an additional cost for this if it is an extra page to what was intially quoted for.

>Can the term care plans pleas change to Case Management
Done

>Could the large white bird be moved a little down and to the left, it was felt he was to close to the top of the page.
Have moved bird down by approx 10 pixels

>Could we have a donate page, which will have our chy number and bank account details.
Done - added as link. There may be an additional cost for this if it is an extra page to what was intially quoted for. Alternatively, we can put this information on the home page??

>the blue gradient moved down the page slightly further
Done

>make the text area slightly larger
Done

>prefer the heading 1 style in design 1 and 2
Changed

>Saol should always read SAOL
Done

> remove the "skip to content" link and put in a proper search box
Done

>like the increased use of purple but think it needs to be more purple
Done

>move the heading 1 down a bit
Done

>make heading 1 blue and heading 2 purple, they think these need to be a bit smaller
Done

>like the colour of the light blue spirles on the background of design 4...maybe want this colour used more in the backgroud with the clouds
Tried this but this colour only work well on the original blue (Design 6b) - because the new blue is more saturated, the spiral colour looks relly greyed out - we can go back to the original blue colour scheme for the background and the clouds????

>the big bird in design 4 looks better maybe because its got more dark blue around it - again only real solution is to revert to the original colour scheme???? (see Design 6b)

>like the design 4 with the bird on the right but want the navigation on the left
See designs 7 (same colour scheme as 6) & Design 7b (same colour scheme as 6b)

Design Phase 4

Using Design 6 as base:

  • top title have a line across it (like the second one)DONE
  • a darker blue on the bottom of the site DONE
  • Could we change about SAOL to – project aims DONE
  • Also if the background will stretch right across the page once this goes live: Can't really implement this with an imagem but I have made the image wider so you can see the effect.
