This website has been created by ilikecake to promote accessible design in Ireland among developers, owners and users of websites.
Among developers it is used as a resource tool to aid them in the development of the own accessible website.
To do this we have taken all 65 checkpoints of the W3C WAI WCAG 1.0 guidelines and explained to others how to interpret and how to implement them. It is also used as a forum for developers to show their work and to discuss any accessibility issues which they have encountered.
For the users of the internet we have enabled them to submit websites which they have problems using due to accessibility issues and to grade them. The developers can then take note of the problems the users are having and rectify them.
For the owners of websites worried about the accessibility of their site they can add the URL of their site to a list for it to be tested by users with disabilities. In short this is a contact point for developers to developers and for users to developers to make the internet more accessible to people with disabilities.
